Buying the car should be the fun part, and the finance should not be the thing that holds it up. We take one application and compare it across a wide panel of lenders, so instead of hoping your own bank says yes, the market works for you. Walk into one bank and you get one lender, one answer and one set of terms. We compare more than 40, take your application to the one most likely to approve it on terms that suit, and do the paperwork and the chasing so you do not have to.
We finance cars of every kind and every purchase type. New from a dealer, used from a yard, or a private sale where the lender verifies the seller, checks the register against the VIN and pays them directly at settlement. Family cars and first cars, utes and 4x4s, electric vehicles and hybrids, prestige, luxury and sports cars, classic cars, and refinancing an existing loan where your circumstances have improved or a balloon is coming due. If you are buying privately, it is worth checking whether finance is owing on the car before you pay.
Every situation is different, and some need a broker more than others. Self-employed borrowers and ABN holders without current financials can often be assessed on bank statements or BAS instead, through low doc options. First-time buyers, people with a thin credit file, and anyone who has had a rough patch on their credit file all benefit from being matched to a lender that writes their profile rather than applying blind, because every application is recorded whether it is approved or not.
Structure matters as much as the rate. The term decides both your repayment and the total interest you pay, and a balloon payment lowers the repayment now at the cost of a lump sum later. A deposit is not always required, and there is no legal minimum, though one widens the lenders available. When you compare offers, the comparison rate is the number that lets you compare like with like, and our guide to what actually affects your interest rate explains why two people can be quoted very differently on the same car.
Know your budget before you shop. Pre-approval means you walk into a dealership or a private sale as someone who can settle, which is worth real money in a negotiation, and it stops you falling for a car you cannot fund. If you would rather understand the whole process first, our guide to how car finance works covers it from application to settlement, and dealer finance versus a broker or bank sets out the three routes honestly.
As a car finance broker we are based on the Sunshine Coast and arrange finance for clients across Australia, with everything handled by phone, email and electronic signing. Wherever you are and whatever you are buying, the work is the same: find the lender that fits, get the structure right, and keep you out of applications that were never going to be approved.
1. Tell us what you are after. The car, or a budget if you have not settled on one, plus a little about your situation. If you already have a dealer quote or a private seller lined up, send the details through.
2. We look at your position. Income, employment and existing commitments, and whether the repayments sit comfortably. Self-employed without current financials is not a problem; low doc options are assessed differently.
3. We settle the structure. Term, deposit, and whether a balloon suits you. The term drives both the repayment and the total cost, so this is worth getting right before anything is submitted.
4. We compare the panel. More than 40 lenders, and we take it to the one whose criteria fit you and the car. One application, not five, because every application marks your credit file whether it is approved or not.
5. Approval. Straightforward applications are often approved within a day or two once the lender has everything. We tell you what is outstanding rather than leaving you wondering.
6. Documents and verification. Contracts issued for electronic signing. On a private sale, the lender confirms the seller owns the car and checks the register against the VIN.
7. Settlement. The lender pays the dealer or the seller directly, any finance owing on the car is paid out, and your insurance starts from the day you take it. Then it is yours.

Damien at Treadgold Finance sorted out the finance for my car purchase and made the whole thing easy. What stood out was that it didn't feel like a big corporate experience - it was a genuine human-to-human connection, friendly and helpful the whole way through. He took the time to explain the options properly and answered every question I had. Highly recommend Damien and Treadgold Finance.

The 2 D’s Danielle and Damian done a fantastic job. I don’t look great on paper and thought it was a long shot but they found a way for me as well as they had someone look for the best car for me. I basically didn't have to much at all. Very grateful for the help getting back on my feet. Would highly recommend Treadgold finance.
You borrow to buy the car and repay over an agreed term, with the lender holding security over the vehicle until the loan is paid out. We compare lenders on your behalf, arrange the approval, and the lender pays the dealer or seller directly at settlement.
Yes. Self-employed borrowers and ABN holders are financed every day. Where current financials are not available, low doc options are assessed on bank statements, BAS or an accountant's declaration instead.
Often, yes. It depends on what is on your file and how recent it is. The important thing is being matched to a lender that writes that profile rather than applying to several and collecting knock-backs, because every application is recorded.
Not necessarily. There is no legal minimum deposit in Australia and many buyers finance the full purchase. A deposit reduces what you borrow and the lender's risk, which can widen the options available.
Yes, and it is common. The lender verifies the seller owns the car, searches the register against the VIN to confirm no finance is owing, and pays the seller directly at settlement. You never hand over a large sum yourself.
Every application is recorded on your file, which is why applying to several lenders at once does damage. Being matched to the right lender and applying once is the way to protect it.
